‘Idol’ alum Jennifer Hudson to sing national anthem tonight at DNC

Even if you don’t like her booming, boisterous voice, it’s hard not to root for Jennifer Hudson, who could be considered the most successful “American Idol” alum not to compete in its season finale. (Although one could make a case for Chris Daughtry as well.)
Hudson will be singing the national anthem tonight at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. And depending on how history shakes out, she could be setting the stage for the future president of the United States.
Heck, even if that doesn’t happen, there’s still something impressive about providing the entertainment before Walter Mondale addresses a big crowd, I suppose.
Speaking of Mr. Daughtry, it turns out he also made a cameo at the DNC this week.
