A sneak peek at ‘24: Redemption’

On Sunday, Fox will show those of us who’ve been dying for a Jack Bauer fix (when the DVDs just won’t cut it) a teaser for the November telemovie, 24: Redemption. (No, it’s not your imagination, it was originally called 24: Exile – see the logo on the right here that they never changed on their press site.)
It’s a night of sneak peeks and repeats — before the 24 preview, we’ll get an “exclusive first look at an extended scene from the highly anticipated film ‘The Day The Earth Stood Still.’” (Don’t you just love the breathless way these press releases are written?)
Then we get a preview of the two-hour November telemovie and a repeat of the Fringe series premiere, “followed by an exclusive preview of the not-to-be-missed, heart-pounding first four minutes of the series’ second episode.” (If that’s not breathless, I don’t know what is.)
Here’s what Fox says about the 24 telemovie:
Filmed on location in South Africa and Los Angeles, 24: REDEMPTION airing Sunday, Nov. 23 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX, stars Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland along with new series cast members Cherry Jones, Robert Carlyle, Gil Bellows and Academy Award winner Jon Voight. The two-hour event finds Jack Bauer battling an international crisis, while here at home the nation prepares for a new president on inauguration day. Taking place just a few months before the new day dawns, 24: REDEMPTION will set the stage and raise the stakes for Season Seven, which will debut in January 2009.
Why do I think this “preview” will be little more than what’s already been out there?
Even so, you know I’ll be watching. Just hope they get the narrator’s voice right this time.
