Palin lookalike ‘Rock’s SNL but the real funny is still six weeks away

You know what I noticed? Tina Fey looks a lot like Sarah Palin.
The converse of that observation has been echoed through the halls of the interwebs since John McCain made Palin the most buzzed about veep pick probably since Garret Hobart. (Look him up. Interesting guy.)
Well, not one to miss an opportunity, SNL chief Lorne Michaels tapped his old friend Fey to come back and don a pair of hip eyeglasses and portray the latest entry to the national political scene. Current SNL‘er and Fey friend Amy Poehler did her usual hilarious Hillary.
Apparently Palin has a sense of humor about the comparison, which, let’s face it, is pretty flattering to both parties.
CBS News reports that a Palin spokeswoman said the Veep nom had a good laugh along with the press corps in the back of the plane watching her doppleganger steal the show.
She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween.
By the way, Barack Obama was slated to appear but canceled late. USA Today says that was a smart move.
Meanwhile, it seems a little early to bring this up, but to be blunt: I don’t care.
If you’re not focused on the Oct. 30 premiere of 30 Rock, if you’re distracted by trivialities like the presidential election, the economy or your boss’s recent reprimand for reading TV blogs on company time, then it’s time to get with the program.
Especially since that program is the funniest one on TV. It’s been 130 days since the last time a new episode airs, and a new one isn’t due for another 45. These ought to help tide you over as they refresh your memory.
