Kelly’s baby daddy revealed on ‘90210′

Oh, there was your typical drama on last night’s “90210.”
Dixon got into a car accident and scored a job at the Peach Pit to pay for the repairs: Awww! We’ll have to see if he’s another West Beverly “good egg” like one of Nat’s former employees. (Brandon Walsh, where are you now?)
Naomi confronted her dad’s mistress—and then told her mom that Daddy Dear is moving his floozy into the family beach house.
Annie made up with Ty after giving up on Ethan.
And – oh yeah – Brenda spilled the beans about who’s Kelly’s baby daddy.
Wha-wha-WHAT?!? I mean, did any of you see that coming?
Brenda slipped the identity of Kelly’s ex so smoothly into their argument—a Kelly-Brenda fight, just like the old days!—that I rewound my DVR to make sure I heard her right.
Was I surprised to hear that Sammy’s dad is—eek, if you haven’t seen the show, stop reading right now!—DYLAN?!?
Of course not. The show’s writers obviously know what makes watchers of the original “0” giddy with glee, and Dylan seemed to be the sentimental favorite over Brandon (or, God forbid, Steve).
What shocked me is that they played their trump card so early in the game. I was sure we wouldn’t know who Kelly’s mystery man is until much later in the season.
And how about the fact that TV Guide is reporting that there no plans for Luke Perry to pop by Beverly Hills? Not to mention the tiny fact that the actor himself has said that he has no interest in playing Dylan again.
But do you believe him? If you ask me, Mr. Perry is fibbing.
I can’t imagine that the show would reveal something that big, that soon, when they didn’t have Ol’ Mr. Sideburns locked up to appear in some future episode. And after all this hoopla, they can’t possibly imagine that they’ll get away with never showing Dylan onscreen: Fans of the old series would revolt. (I’ll carry the tar and feathers myself!)
To me, that parking lot scene still would have worked, even if we were still being strung along. Brenda could have simply told Kelly, “You’re still in love with him,” instead of “You’re still in love with Dylan.”
And I’ll bet that’s exactly what the script called for—until the producers got a call from Perry’s agent.
Yet by stirring up worries that Dylan won’t ever show up in his old ZIP code, those CW smarty-pants stir up more buzz for the show—and they need it, since ratings took a nosedive last week when Brenda was nowhere to be seen. (We’ll see if her re-appearance bumped up the numbers for last night’s installment.)
So what does everyone out there think? Will Luke Perry be back to see son Sammy—and mess with Kelly’s love life—despite what he’s said?
And what about Tori Spelling? I giggled when Brenda chanted “Donna Martin graduates,” didn’t you? And she got specific: Donna has a cute baby. Is that a clue that negotiations with Tori are back on?

Good point, I think that Luke may have said “ok” and they’re trying to keep it under wraps for a big surprise later in the season. May be sooner than later because they have to keep people’s attention.
Color me cynical, but I’m betting that if the show gains in popularity, the more likely it will be that the old cast members will return, even if it’s only for a brief guest appearance.
