SNL Weekend Update Thursday: A craptacular sophomore effort!

Last week I reviewed the debut episode of SNL Weekend Update Thursday.
I didn’t like it. But I watched it again last night anyway. I hoped it would improve, and I figured there’s only three episodes planned. How bad could it be?
Turns out, very bad. It wasn’t funny. It was lame. It was the comedic equivalent of a punch in the face, only less memorable.
Even last week I chuckled a few times. This was like watching According to Jim with the sound off.
Have Darryl Hammond and Fred Armisen ever even seen McCain and Obama? Can Seth Meyers deliver a single joke without stuttering? Can he and Amy Poehler comeup with a worse bit than their “Really” routine? Yup. It was their “I Liked It” routine.
Ladies and gents, stick to your weekend jobs.
And that’s all I have to say about it.
