‘Gossip Girl:’ Bye-bye Bart Bass?

I was naughty and neglected to post my usual “Gossip Girl” recap of Monday night’s episode (sorry, y’all), but rather than waste words commenting on the Snowflake Ball blah-blah-blahs, I thought I’d get right to talking about the question every fan is asking:

Is Bart Bass really dead?

For those of you who didn’t watch the trailer for next week’s show and can’t figure it out, or haven’t obsessively followed all of the online speculation, heed this warning and STOP READING HERE.

For everyone else, here’s the answer:

Of course he is.

I mean, hello? Bart – the unlikeable, cold-hearted father of Chuck, husband of Lily, stepdad to Serena and Eric – has been in “an accident.” There’s a freakin’ funeral next week. Doesn’t take a genius to put together those clues.

Plotwise, it’s a brilliant move. Bart’s death clears the way for a Lily-Rufus reconciliation and a family power struggle when Bart’s little brother blows into town.

You know what else it does?

I hear it gives Ed Westwick the chance for a tour de force performance – can you believe we’re actually saying THAT about “Gossip Girl”? – as Chuck has a full-blown meltdown.

Yup, you’re actually going to feel really, really, REALLY bad for Chuck Bass.

And if that’s not enough to make you sob, here’s some more heartbreaking news. It’s the last you’ll see of “GG” until next year.

After Monday, the show goes on its holiday hiatus, returning Jan. 5 with all-new eps.

Boo-hoo!

i don’t think he’s dead.
i that case it wouldn’t have been like “OMG? what happened”.
you would have seen a clip of something happening with the car or whatever the “accident” was.

bart is smart. and this is just a part of his plan.
and hello? andrew tyler is still alive, and he was sitting next to him.

(and of course he wasn’t on the funeral? that would just be stupid)

Listen to next week’s episode and when serena just overheard that lily loves rufus she says “they havnt even found his body” I bet hes alive and that it will bring another twist. When I watch GG I see where another twist will come in. eg nates dad hello he will escape or somthing very scandilous woo

i dont think he is dead i think he faked it. because it would make a realllly good story line l8er.
and there was no eveidence that he died other than the funeral and he could have paid of the funeral guy.

anyway i want chuck and blair together 4 eva!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry im a bit overobsessed this month) lol
