Did Joe Buck invite Artie Lange on to his new show and really expect anything else?

Anyone who cares has probably seen Artie Lange’s first, last and only stint on Joe Buck’s new show.
And anyone who saw it has asked themself a crucial question: How’d Joe Buck get his own show?
Then, after they pondered that for a while, they likely wondered what Lange’s problem was. I mean, he was a complete jerk from start to finish. He crossed the funny line about 10 seconds in and was just gratuitous and mean after that.
But yeah, I laughed, because it was pretty funny. And I don’t even dislike Buck like a lot of people do. I’m not sure this is his ideal format, though.
I won’t embed it, due to the “mature” nature of the dialogue, but HuffPo has it and Deadspin has the Overtime segment.
Apparently, HBO Sports is miffed—assuming they didn’t arrange the whole thing in advance—and has banned Lange from the network (along with most of their viewers, as a slew of online commenters have quipped).
That’ll teach him.
