Readers Poll: True Blood, So You Think You Can Dance most anticipated summer TV fare

I didn’t plan to let the most recent Readers Poll go on for so long.
The question, “What summer show are you REALLY looking forward to most?” doesn’t really apply now that the summer season is well under way. But the jockeying back and forth for the top spot made me think it was worth leaving up there a while.
But it’s been five weeks, and I’m calling it a draw between True Blood and beaten-by-a-hair So You Think You Can Dance. The two shows traded the top spot, along with third place finisher Burn Notice, for most of the time the poll was up.
Full disclosure: I don’t watch any of these shows. For starters, summer is my time to take a break from TV, aside from the weekly Chuck recaps, The Office reruns I watch on DVR while I’m on the treadmill and the upcoming return of Entourage. OK, that’s probably more than a lot of people watch year-round, but it’s a far cry from the eight or so shows I watch weekly during the regular season.
I’m not surprised by the poll results. True Blood fans are diehard, and I’ve heard Burn Notice called the best show on TV by more than one source. And of course So You Think You Can Dance is your typical reality ratings runaway.
Surprisingly, Weeds, which I’m having a hard time keeping up with of late, and Entourage, finished middle of the pack. OK, it’s not so surprising. Both shows, while still entertaining, are a tad beyond their expiration dates. I’m not sure what to make of Heroes or Chuck making the list, but maybe they were added by Hulu devotees.
The final tally follows the break. Up next, what did you think of the coverage surrounding the death of Michael Jackson?

Bri, I promise you: If you start now, you will barrel through the first two seasons of “Mad Men” and be rearin’ to go for Season 3. It is to straight-up drama as “Chuck” is to dramedy.
True blood will go down as one of HBOs best series by far. A lot of people wont agree with me but its true. It is catching on fast and I’m definitely a massive fan.
