For the last three Mondays I’ve been checking out the new drama “The Black Donnellys” on NBC which follows behind the network’s breakout hit “Heroes.”
It’s the story of four Hell’s Kitchen brothers in their 20s who are generally malcontents. They’re mixed up in low-level street thuggery and get into trouble when the oldest, Jimmy ( [...]

Since Heather’s KOed with a wee touch of the flu …
I spent 2 hours getting caught up on “Lost” last night. I watched the new ep and then adjourned to the homeoffice to watch the Hugo episode a week ago on “ABC.com.”:www.abc.go.com Verdict? Two hours well spent.
Now although my usual assignment here on Remote Access [...]

I have to say I was at the end of my cape with “Heroes” … until last night. Just last week I was saying this show had jumped the shark. Now, I’m back in the pool.

It was hard to keep my thoughts focused on “Heroes” last night after I got wind of the bizarre astronaut love triangle, kidnapping plot. And I thought last night’s “Heroes” episode was poorly thought out … jeez. The details connected in the “Nowak case”:http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/ASTRONAUT_ARRESTED?SITE=NYWHI&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2007-02-06-13-36-11 make superpowered youngin’s out to save the world sound pretty tame.

“In another intriguing network competition, NBC’s new serial “Heroesâ€?
returned from a hiatus last Monday with 14.9 million viewers, beating Fox’s “24â€? (14.5 million) in the same time slot. Neither show, however, could beat CBS’s “Two and a Half Menâ€? (15.8 million) at 9 p.m.”
My boss sent me this little tidbit from the AP yesterday. It [...]

Is it too early to get excited about the addition of Claude last night on “Heroes”?
His whole Fagin bit, as “Heroes” creator Tim Kring called it in an interview with “Sci-Fi”:http://www.scifi.com/sfw/interviews/sfw14850.html, was really a nice touch. Peter seemed off balance dealing with The Invisible Man. The way the episode  titled “The Fix”  ended [...]

Holy set up, Batman!
‘Heroes’ released its first fresh episode in over a month last night and although it was engrossing … it seemed designed to set up what creator Tim Kring calls the first ‘pod’ of new storylines. They used to call this a story arc, but if Kring likes to reference whales with his [...]

Awesome. George Takei who played Sulu on “Star Trek” has filmed three episodes on NBC’s hit drama heroes, according to a story on The Sci-Fi Channel’s “Sci Fi Wire.”:http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0&id=39633
That’s good news for all the sci-fi fans out there and anyone else for that matter. Takei, a truly underutilized actor (Japanese-American or otherwise) will work in [...]

Job security. That’s what we’re talking about. NBC announced today that its superhero drama was going to be renewed. ”(Read the USA Today story here)”:http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2007-01-17-nbc-presstour_x.htm. As well as “My Name is Earl,” “The Office” and “Law & Order: SUV.”
But that’s not necessarily good news. This show could have ‘Law & Order,’ ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ [...]

I love the whacky and irreverent “Scrubs” on NBC. Although all the bad reviews for Zach Braff’s second feature film  “Garden State 2” (Real title: “The Last Kiss.” It only seemed like a sequel)  seems to have put 10 years on his boyish, dopey looks.
Anyway, next Thursday’s “Scrubs” will feature Broadway’s “Avenue Q” [...]

All this week, I’ve been watching reruns of “Rome” on HBO. So much so that I spaced out and missed The Prez’s speech last night on his new course for Iraq. Thank goodness you can read analysis on Bush’s proposal on LoHud.com “here”:http://www.thejournalnews.com/world/.
The new season starts Sunday at 9 p.m.
I’m really loving this show although [...]

“Heroes” won Best New Drama on the 33rd Annual People’s Choice Awards last night. Bully for them!! The award show, hosted by the ever-overrated-and-never-funny-in-any-setting-ever Queen Latifah lorded over this not watched and really not cared about extravaganza. I’m surprised they got super hunk Johnny Depp to show up at all  even if it was [...]

The worst part of losing the character Mr. Eko, for me, is one of force. He was the only character on the island who could fend for himself physically.
His hard life as a criminal (maybe a reformed one), physical stature, fierce will and outdoorsman skills made Eko  payed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje  someone to [...]

For what it’s worth, “Lost” is the only serialized drama that can take a three month leave of abscence and come back just as strong. Look at all the failures this season, “The Nine,” “Six Degrees,” “Smith” (which was yanked too early).
There’s really only one new standout drama left standing  “Heroes.” Now I’m not [...]
